Electrolux Group Recalls Over 200,000 Ranges Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
Electrolux Group Recalls Over 200,000 Ranges Due to Fire and Burn HazardsThese ranges, sold under the Frigidaire and Kenmore trademarks, were previously recalled in 2009. However, as the statement announces, the ranges may still exhibit unsafe behavior.
Depending on the model, the surface heating elements can: 1) turn on spontaneously without being activated; 2) remain on after being switched off; or 3) heat to temperatures different from those selected. These issues pose significant fire and burn hazards to consumers.
This recall announcement affects Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, Frigidaire Professional, and Kenmore Elite smooth-top electric ranges. These ranges feature rear panel rotary knobs and digital displays and were available in white, bisque, black, and stainless steel. The brand name, model, and serial number can be found on the frame of the drawer at the bottom of the unit when opened
Electrolux offers repairs and refunds as a remedy for the problem.
